Step 2 Diploma recognition via SRK

Important
You can only start this step once you have obtained your diploma. If you are still studying, remain at step 1 and focus on learning German.

Summary of the recognition process

It is important to start the first step of the diploma recognition process, the precheck, as soon as possible.
In many cases, partial recognition is required in order to start working.
The assessment of the precheck can take between 2 and 8 weeks. Make sure all documents are uploaded correctly and completely.

After a positive precheck, you must complete an Antragsformular and send it back by email.
You will then receive postal mail with further requirements for partial recognition.
After sending these documents, the assessment usually takes at least 3 to 4 months.
Obtaining partial recognition often takes around 6 months in total.

CCPS
For recognition, you will often need a Certificate of Current Professional Status. After applying, it usually takes 4 to 8 weeks before you receive it. Start this process early to avoid delays.

Phase 1 Precheck

The precheck is the first step and is free of charge. You create an account at www.precheck.ch and upload the required documents.
To avoid mistakes, we have created instructions on the precheck page.
Always follow the instructions in your personal precheck environment. These instructions are leading.

Health registry and applying for CCPS

Proof of registration at your government’s health registry is called a CCPS.
The CCPS must not be older than 3 months at the time of submission.

For partial or full recognition, your government must send the CCPS document directly to the SRK.
If you are not registered, it is sometimes possible to apply for a Certificate of Non registration.
This process usually takes 4 to 8 weeks.

Phase 2 Partial recognition

After a positive precheck, you will receive a document called ‘PreCheck Positiv’. You then complete the Antragsformular with your current address and send it back.
Within a few weeks, you will receive postal mail containing a questionnaire and a list of documents that must be sent by post.
Always follow the instructions in your own letter.

Amtlich beglaubigte Kopie
The SRK may request official copies. In your country, these can be arranged through a notary.
In Switzerland, this can also be done at the municipality.
Official copies must include a signature and stamp in English, German, French or Italian.
A copy with a stamp from your university is not valid.

Arbeitszeugnis references

The SRK may request references from previous employers in English or German.
These must at least state your position, the period of employment and your working percentage.
Have the document signed and stamped.
If you have not had an employer, you may include a short statement explaining that this does not apply.

Phase 3 Full recognition

After approval of the documents, you will receive partial recognition, the Teilentscheid.
You can then submit your B2 certificate and make the second payment to complete full recognition.
The SRK accepts, among others, Goethe Zertifikat B2, telc Deutsch B2, TestDaF level 3 to 5 and ÖSD B2.
