Belarmino's Story as a Physiotherapist in Switzerland

Belarmino’s story as a physiotherapist in Switzerland

Belarmino worked for years as a physiotherapist at a renowned sports clinic in Lisbon. After years of preparation, he decided at the age of forty to take a new step. Since early 2026, he has been working as a physiotherapist in Rothrist and living near Olten. The move meant not only starting a new job, but also starting over in another country, while his two children live in Portugal.

The only thing I sometimes miss is having a little more time with a patient. Half an hour is shorter than I was used to.
I call them every day and now I can take good care of them.
After four years of learning German, I arrived here and suddenly I could hardly understand anyone because of Swiss German.
German is going well. I get a lot of help and I actually have no problems or stress at work.
I think I will only truly have complete peace of mind once I have passed my B2 exam.
PhysioMatch really helped me. Arranging everything on my own was complicated. A home, insurance, a car and all the other administration. It is very helpful when someone can provide information and help you.
The water is too cold for me. My blood is too warm.
I really love my job.
On Saturdays, I often cook for five days at once. I work long days during the week. When I get home, I can simply relax.
With potatoes and vegetables, I actually think it is quite tasty.
I really feel at ease during my work. Life here is organised.
