Step 3 Getting to Know Employers
Step 3 Getting to Know Employers
Important to know
In most cases you will first travel to Switzerland to personally meet several employers.
The final contract often follows only after this visit.
What Is the Purpose of This Step
In this step you get to know one or more potential employers.
The goal is to see whether both sides feel it is a good fit,
both professionally and personally.
You gain insight into the practice or clinic, the team, the way of working
and the expectations. At the same time, the employer gets a good impression of you.
First Contact and Introductory Interview
Once PhysioMatch has found a suitable practice, contact is established.
This usually starts with a telephone or online interview.
This conversation is intended to:
- briefly get to know each other
- explain the position and way of working
- discuss expectations regarding working hours, start date and responsibilities
You can find tips on how to prepare for this conversation on the page Telephone Interview.
Second Contact and Discussion of Employment Conditions
If you have a positive feeling after the first conversation, schedule another meeting to discuss the next steps and employment conditions. We recommend requesting a sample contract so you can prepare as well as possible.
Travelling to Switzerland for a Personal Visit
If the conversations are positive, you will usually be invited
to travel to Switzerland for a personal visit.
During this visit:
- you meet the team
- you receive a tour of the practice or clinic
- you discuss the role in more detail
- you experience the region and working environment
Practical tips for planning your trip can be found on the page Travel Plans.
Tips on how to prepare for the on-site interview can be found on the page Meeting.
Travel Costs
PhysioMatch offers candidates, by arrangement, an application budget of up to
300 euros. This budget can be used for travel costs and,
in some cases, language course costs.
This reimbursement applies under the following conditions:
- you visit a sufficient number of employers
- you sign a contract for at least 12 months
- you submit the expenses within 3 months after your start date
- you keep all receipts
Ask your PhysioMatch contact person for the reimbursement form.
After the Visit
After the visit, you discuss your experience together with your PhysioMatch contact person.
If the feeling is positive on both sides, a proposal or contract often follows
in the next step.
