Physiotherapist wanted for maternity leave cover in Switzerland
Region Obwalden / Nidwalden | approx. 16-32 hours per week | Minimum 4 months | Preferred start from August
For a physiotherapy practice in Central Switzerland, PhysioMatch is looking for a reliable and independent physiotherapist to cover a maternity leave. The position is for a minimum of 4 months. If the collaboration works well for both sides, there is a possibility to stay longer.
This is a varied role combining work within a foundation and home-based physiotherapy. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys independence, responsibility and providing personal, high-quality care to patients.
The positionYou will work in a combination of two settings:
Foundation – approx. 16 hours per weekYou will work two fixed days per week at a foundation for clients with physical and intellectual disabilities. You will be part of a structured working environment where collaboration, involvement and continuity are important.
Home-based physiotherapy – approx. 8-16 hours per weekIn addition, you will treat patients at home in Obwalden and Nidwalden. These hours can be planned flexibly. The exact working area and division of hours will be agreed upon together.
In total, the role is available for approximately 16-32 hours per week.
About the regionYou will work in the region of Obwalden and Nidwalden, in the heart of Central Switzerland. This area is known for its impressive mountain scenery, clear lakes and high quality of life. It offers peace, space and nature, while still providing good accessibility and local facilities.
In your free time, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, skiing or relaxing by the water. Cities such as Lucerne are also easily accessible, allowing you to enjoy both Swiss nature and city life.
What you can expect- A temporary position for a minimum of 4 months, with the possibility of extension

- Attractive salary: on average CHF 6,500 x 13 based on a full-time position

- Completed physiotherapy degree
- Swiss Red Cross recognition or a positive PreCheck at the start
- German language skills at minimum B2 level
- Reliable, independent and responsible working attitude
- Affinity with clients with physical and intellectual disabilities
- Empathy, patience and good communication skills
- Driving licence category B
- Someone the practice can truly rely on
- Full support throughout the entire application process
- Good assistance with organising your work and residence permit and accommodation
- A free introduction day in Switzerland; we cover your travel expenses up to a maximum of €300
- Possibility to take a German language course
